Some of my favorite quotes from writers 11/18/2010
C. S. Lewis ~ “You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.” I love this quote because I really relate to the sentiments behind it. First of all, I am a big tea drinker and I love to read. Just add a warm blanket and I’ll be all set. ~~~~~~ Jane Austen ~ “It sometimes happens that a woman is handsomer at twenty-nine than she was ten years before.” I like this one! It’s true, just like wine, we get better with age. ~~~~~~ J.R.R. Tolkien ~ “It’s a job that’s never started that takes the longest to finish.” So true, especially since I’m a big procrastinator. If I never begin, I’ll never finish. ~~~~~~ Helen Keller ~ “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” I truly believe that when one door closes, God always opens another door. This quote is so true…many times we are looking at the loss in life and not seeing the beauty of what God is bringing to our lives. Add Comment |
