From Christmas to the New Year 12/02/2011

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love the fact that it’s celebrated throughout the entire month of December. Most people seem to be in a more festive mood. It’s such a joyous time of year. Of course, the reason for the season is the birth of Jesus—it’s sad that Christmas has become so commercialized when the real reason is the birth of God’s son sent to save us for our sins.

I’ve always loved Christmas time ever since I was a little girl. One of my favorite parts of Christmas is decorating the tree. Presents are nice, but I have always enjoyed giving more than receiving. Every year at Christmas time I make my husband suffer through listening to Christmas music while we set up and decorate the tree and drink hot chocolate or hot cinnamon apple spice tea. Oh, he loves it—well, for a little while, but near the end, he’s all “Christmased-out!”

This year for Thanksgiving and Christmas I decided to do a month long celebration of thanks and of Christmas spirit. It got me thinking last night that I should use the themes for my blog for all of 2012. I have guest bloggers and guest authors being interviewed all the time; however, I’ve never tried to do a year long journey of themed months. I am really excited about this and hope you’ll be too.

So here are the themes for 2012:

January—Beat the winter blues w/ a cup of hot chocolate and a sweet romance

February—Sweet romance and love…also a Blog Party on Valentine’s Day

March—In honor of St. Patty’s Day, highlighting Irish themed books & history of St. Patrick

April—Leap into Spring and celebrate Easter

May—Celebrate Memorial Day and our veterans and the armed forces

June—Weddings theme

July—Celebrate July 4th and patriotism

August—Summer Time Fun…also a Blog Party on Summer Fun

September—Celebrate Labor Day and celebrate writers / authors

October—Fall / Harvest time

November—Thanksgiving theme

December—Christmas theme

If you are interest in participating as a guest in any of these themed months, please contact me. I’m starting to fill up the schedule of 2012 with guests for interviews and guest blogs pertaining to each month’s theme.
