Josie Sergeant is not your typical female. She makes her living as a rancher in the wilds of the Canadian north. Perseverance and courage are character traits she possesses and she needs those to survive and thrive in the cold frontier.
Her brother is set to marry for the second time and Josie has some reservations about him marrying his fiancée when his divorce is not even finalized yet. However, her reservations do not come close to those of Theo Sabich, the brother of Richard’s fiancée.
The impending marriage of their siblings causes an immediate issue for Josie and Theo. After seeing each other as enemies, can they bridge the gap and give way to their attraction towards each other…
As I read, I soon found the redeeming aspect of these shifts. Ms. Holly skillfully provides the reader with deep insight into the hero and heroine’s minds, allowing for a deeper understanding as the plot moves along.
Ms. Holly’s descriptions of the scenes, especially of the Canadian landscape, created breathtaking pictures in my mind. It is evident that she has done her research and provided the perfect amount of facts to give the reader ample knowledge of this new world without overwhelming them with needless details.
If I only had two words to describe this novel--simple elegance…there is just the right amount of detail, mingled with story-telling and character development to keep you glued to the page. Once you begin reading the tale of Josie and Theo, you won’t want to stop until you finish the book. Strings Attached hooked me from the beginning and my eagerness to devour their love story never abated. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a tale of true love and hope of overcoming past pain.
Disclosure: This book contains slight profanity and a love scene, mostly sensual rather than graphic.
